Hello Resurrection family,
In communication with two Sisters of Mercy, Pat Murphy, and JoAnn Perch, who are long-time advocates for the migrant/immigrant community, the Peace and Justice Ministry has become aware of an opportunity to help migrants who have been bussed suddenly to Chicago with no established structure in place to process their asylum applications.
Therefore, Catholic Charities and other helping organizations are providing temporary housing, food, hygiene needs, diapers, legal support services, and attempting to find housing while the migrants’ asylum cases are considered.
To help with the above needs, the Sisters would be most appreciative of any financial support we can provide as individuals for the migrants in need. The address to send checks is:
